First Steps – Message Amanda
Initial Intake – Our first session is learning all about you, setting intentions for you, and creating a framework for your following sessions. If you plan to have a session at a retreat, we would meet on-line or in-person prior to the retreat for an intake session. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to connect and confirm we are the right fit for each other.
What Happens in a Session
This is based on your independent needs. In each session, we will utilize breath work and mindfulness to be an integral part of your personal growth. Depending on your goals, we may focus more on physical postures, meditation, and daily life management through yogic philosophy. We will work together to integrate various practices into your daily life.
Why Choose Yoga Therapy
If you want to find balance in your life or reconnect with yourself, yoga therapy is worth exploring if you are interested in seeking alternative healing practices. These examples may be a reason to reach out: if you experience physical barriers such as recovering from injuries, pain in your body or experience mental barriers such as sleep deprivation, poor eating habits, anxious behavior, and lack of motivation. This is not a full list.
Does Yoga Therapy Work
Yoga therapy works if you are ready to heal and change behaviors that are no longer serving you. Yoga therapy is an interdisciplinary approach to healing. This means I am someone who is offering options through yogic practices and philosophies. I am not a certified mental health counselor or doctor and therefore cannot diagnose you. If you are working through injuries, we encourage you to listen to your doctors to know where your physical limits are. As yoga therapist, we research scientific evidence in Western and Eastern medicine to offer alternative healing practices.
